Amsa continues to raise output despite power shortages

ArcelorMittal South Africa (Amsa) said production for the full-year 2008 will be around 6.5 million tonnes of crude steel up from 6.38 million tonnes in 2007 after the company carried out a number of upgrades and maintenance at its operations during the year. "Production will be about 6.5 milllion tonnes," said Amsa chief executive officer Nonkululeko Nyembezi-Heita on Wednesday.
