Rio Tinto will invest $228 million to construct a 225-megawatt high-efficiency turbine at the Shipshaw power station in Saguenay, Quebec.
The Shipshaw project, which is expected to be completed in December 2012, is a major component of Montreal-based Rio Tinto Alcan's extensive hydroelectric network, which has a total installed capacity of approximately 2,900 megawatts in Quebec alone.
