China’s steelmakers pulled back on purchasing ferrous scrap from the USA in April, but steelmakers in Turkey and elsewhere picked up much of the slack in the market.

China’s steelmakers pulled back on purchasing ferrous scrap from the USA in April, but steelmakers in Turkey and elsewhere picked up much of the slack in the market. Exports of the bellwether No 1 heavy melting steel scrap slipped 5.2% to 499,520 tonnes in April from 526,824 tonnes the previous month, according to the latest figures from the US Commerce Dept....
