Molybdic oxide rose on the low end on Friday as moly converters are no longer finding prices below $11 per lb

“I’ve not seen any oxide below $11 for prompt delivery,” said a moly converter who reported truckload business at $10.50 last week. Drummed molybdic oxide narrowed to $11-11.60 per lb from $10.60-11.60 per lb, though few deals were reported to MB. The oxide market is expected to be muted for the remainder of the year, with producers polled by MB saying that they are unlikely to book much business for the rest of 2009....
