Saudi's Tasnee mulls copper, zinc, lead smelter in Yanbu port

Saudi Arabian industrial group Tasnee is carrying out a feasibility study about building a copper, zinc and lead smelter at the Red Sea port of Yanbu

The Tasnee smelter would produce an initial 100,000 tpy of each material, with plans to expand to 200,000 tpy of copper, and is due to come on stream in 2013.

More details of the project are expected next week, a Tasnee official said.
