Shanghai copper nets cautious gain on import data

Copper traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) went up on Wednesday after February copper imports reflected improved demand.

June copper ended at 60,620 yuan ($8,866) per tonne, up 0.6% or 350 yuan from Tuesday, with gains tempered by investor caution as trading for all copper contracts fell 11% to 286,232 lots. "The increased February [imports] data supported today’s prices...
