Glencore International is likely to launch an initial public offering (IPO) within the next three years, MB understands
The Swiss trading house has been indicating for some months that it will look to list, with speculation mounting after it issued $2 billion in convertible bonds to equity investors in December.
The bond issue was part of the trading house’s “overall strategy of moving towards the public equity markets”, Glencore reiterated on Wednesday, as it announced its 2009 results.
The company’s senior management was pressed on its IPO plans in a conference call following the results on Wednesday, a Glencore bondholder told MB.
