Shanghai copper fell back below 60,000 yuan ($8,785) per tonne on Thursday as fresh data showed inflation creeping up in February.
The June copper contract ended at 59,310 yuan per tonne, down 2.2% or 1,310 yuan from a day earlier, while trading for all copper contracts jumped to 449,684 lots.
