Mena buyers reject higher Turkish rebar offers

Turkish rebar exporters have so far failed to secure deals to MENA buyers for Marc h production with their latest offer prices, Turkish mills and traders told MB.

Turkish mini-mills and re-rollers have been offering rebar at $580-600 per tonne fob main Turkish port due to recent increases in ferrous scrap and billet prices which has increased their cost of production. So, here we go again. Another bank, another huge trade gone bad. This one doesn’t even appear to have been a case of rogue trading; a whole desk seems to have been operating with the full knowledge of the management and/or risk committee.
