Shanghai copper rises as credit worries ebb

Shanghai copper gained slightly on Friday as liquidity fears ebbed after China's central bank said February's consumer price index (CPI) jump remained within expectations.
June copper on the Shanghai Futures Exchange (SHFE) ended at 59,590 yuan ($8,717) per tonne, up 0.5% or 280 yuan from Thursday and 2.4% higher than last week.
China's CPI grew 2.7% year-on-year in February, higher than expected by the market, fuelling fears that the central bank would move to douse inflation by tightening credit.
