Spot iron ore prices returned to above $140 per tonne cfr China on Friday as steelmakers started buying again, encouraged by an upturn in steel prices.
Prices jumped to $141-142 per tonne cfr for 63.5% Fe Indian fines as transaction volumes improved, with offers rising to $145 cfr, up from bookings of $137-138.5 cfr last Friday.
