(AMM) Steel foundry files lawsuit vs. fabricator over crane repair work

ME Global Inc., a Minneapolis company that makes abrasion-resistant steel and iron wear parts, has filed a breach-of-contract lawsuit against structural fabricator Bell Steel Inc. (BSI) related to contract work BSI performed at its Tempe, Ariz., foundry.
The complaint filed in U.S. District Court in Arizona alleges breach of contract, breach of the covenant of good faith and fair dealing, and breach of express warranty.
The foundry?which melts ferrous scrap to cast rock crushing, grinding mill and slurry pump components and other mining industry products?seeks a declaratory judgment of $307,000, plus costs and attorneys' fees, arising from BSI's "improper and inadequate repair of (its) Melt Bay Craneway."
BSI, based in Gilbert, Ariz., was issued a $147,360 work order last July to repair the steel beam-supported elevated crane rail system that transports metals, materials and products throughout the foundry, ME Global said. The agreement terms specified that BSI finish its work by Dec....
