Base metals remained volatile in early trading on the London Metal Exchange on Friday as the markets remain gripped by uncertainty stemming from the economic troubles in Greece
All but nickel opened below their last official prices as the markets continued to slip late on Thursday.
“In the US, it was another day of sell-offs,” an analyst said in a note.
But prices were experiencing a small recovery by 09:20 BST, with all contracts trading above their opening prices.
“It’s tech-driven – it will all be on the dollar,” a category I trader said. “The dollar was at 1.26 when I got in this morning and it’s at 1.27 now.”
