Prices for Indian scrap delivered to India have continued to fall as mills there reduced the amount of material they purchase and pushed for more reductions, market participants told MB on the sidelines of the Bureau of International Recycling (BIR) Convention in Istanbul.
The latest deals were sealed at $350-360 cfr India, down from bookngs made $370-380 cfr last week.
One Middle Eastern supplier sold a cargo of HMS 1&2 (80:20) at $350 cfr Chennai, an Indian importer told MB.
Middle East material is generally cheaper than European or traditional scrap, he explained.
