The Bureau of International Recycling's (BIR) International Trade Council (ITC) has warned its members about a wave of organised crime affecting scrap cargoes and has urged scrapyards to tighten up on precautionary measures
The ITC is particularly concerned about thefts linked to Italy, but there have also been recent cases elsewhere, including the USA, the ITC said at its meeting at the BIR's World Recycling Convention & Exhibition in Istanbul this week.
