(AMM) Gerdau Ameristeel hikes some beams

Gerdau Ameristeel Corp. has moved to recover part of an earlier price cut on selected wide-flange beams as it also moves to hold tags level for the vast majority of its beams in July.
Beginning in July, the Tampa, Fla.-based producer intends to raise the price of about 14 different sizes of standard and wide-flange beams by $40 per ton ($2 per hundredweight), although no change will be made to its "published prices of all other beam and piling products for shipment in July," according to market sources.
