(AMM) Secondary aluminum alloy tags inch higher

Spot market prices for some grades of secondary aluminum alloy moved higher in the past week, although signals are mixed on their future direction.

A380.1 prices rose 2 cents at midweek to a range centered on 99 cents to $1 per pound.

One seller declined to move higher, saying scrap is plentiful and summer demand uncertain. But others said scrap prices have risen, possibly influenced by the London Metal Exchange.
