Chemical grade chromite & fluorspar on the rise; refractories remain sluggish

 

Fluorspar prices in China are firming as spot prices and contracts for acid-grade material are settled at up to $300/tonne for Q3.

In contrast, acidspar prices are cooling in Mexico, with top end indications put at $300/tonne, FOB Tampico for filtercake, down from as high as $360/tonne in Q2.

 

High grade Chinese metallurgical grade fluorspar prices are stronger in Q3, with a rise of $10/tonne. This is due to the ongoing strong demand from the Asian steel industry, particularly in Japan, and demand for use in glass fibre production. Metspar, 95.5% CaF2 min, lump, bulk,...
