U.S. steel imports totaled nearly 1.8 million tonnes last month, down 13.6 percent from 2.08 million tonnes in May but 129.9 percent higher than 782,094 tonnes in June last year, according to preliminary statistics from the U.S. Census Bureau.
June's decrease primarily reflected a lack of demand for coiled plate (down 61.2 percent), standard rail (down 89.6 percent) and oil country tubular...
