(AMM) ATI resets melt shop installation timeline

The deep impact of the economic recession has forced Allegheny Technologies Inc. (ATI) to push out the timeline for the new rolling mill at its Brackenridge, Pa., facility by at least one year beyond the original plan, with official startup now pegged for 2013.

L. Patrick Hassey, ATI's chairman, president and chief executive officer, said the $1.16-billion project will take 40 months to complete.

The company initially slated completion for 2012 when it announced in September 2008 its intention to build the mill.
