Chemicals unit increases profit by 11% as soda ash and fluorochem volumes recover

During Q2, Solvay announced that its purchase of the Berezniki soda ash plant in Russia from Sodium Group Investments Ltd had been cancelled, leaving the group to consider its export position to the country (IM 11 June 2010: Solvay Russia deal cancelled).
