Russian group ups refractories capacity and magnesia supply for Slovakian acquisition

 

Claimed as the largest refractories producer in Eastern Europe, with a production capacity of 150,000 tpa bricks and monolithics, Slovmag was acquired by Magnezit in 2008 (IM 18 January 2008: Magnezit buys Slovmag).

 

Slovmag is one of Slovakia’s two magnesite producers, the other being Slovenské Magnezitové Závody a.s. (SMZ) in nearby Jelsava.
