Antimony prices in China fell for the first time in four weeks with buying faltering now that prices are 20% higher than the start of the July.
Prices that had started to rebound received a boost in mid-July when nine out of ten smelters were closed in an environmental crackdown in Hunan's Lengshuijiang area, which accounts for nine-tenth of China’s output.
"The inspection continues in Lengshuijiang. The price drop has nothing to do with any improvement in supply," said an official from an antimony producer in Hunan.
