(AMM) Mele expanding aluminum foil recycling in Connecticut

Connecticut Metal Industries, which recycles aluminum foil and other packaging, is more than doubling its 20,000 square feet of space in Ansonia, Conn.

Company president Tom Mele said his expanding operation is in a 101-year-old building that started out as a brass mill. "The floors are still impregnated with brass turnings, a reminder of the long legacy of brass manufacturing in the Naugatuck River Valley," he said. Across the river is Ansonia Brass & Copper Co.
