The London Metal Exchange has named Angela Knight, chief executive officer of the British Bankers' Association, as the guest speaker for its annual dinner in October, the cornerstone event of LME Week, according to a notice to members sent out Friday.

Knight, the most senior banking executive in Britain, served as a Conservative member of Parliament from 1992 to 1997 and as economic secretary to the Treasury from 1995...
