(AMM) Greenville Tube production is halted by degreaser fire

Seamless tube maker Greenville Tube Co. has shut down full production following a fire in a degreaser. The outage is expected to last until the end of the month.
RathGibson LLC, which owns the Clarksville, Ark.-based manufacturer, confirmed the fire began at 4 a.m. Monday in the degreaser and was contained to the southern end of the facility. Third shift employees who were on site were evacuated and no one was injured, Kirk Thorne, RathGibson's vice president of sales and marketing, said.
"We're working with the insurance company as well as outside contractors to assess and put together a repair plan," he said. "The initial thought is that we would be back up and running and resume full operations Sept. 27."
