China's pig iron prices edge higher on tight supply

Chinese pig iron ore prices have risen this week on tight supply and the threat of blast furnace shutdowns.

In Hebei province, pig iron deliveries to steel mills rose 30 yuan from yesterday to 3,330-3,350 yuan ($488-491) per tonne. Mainstream offers stood at 3,300-3,350 yuan per tonne ex works with tax, with a few suppliers offering at 3,400 yuan per tonne. The return of some pig iron capacity...
