Ambrian opens Shanghai office, looks to expand Asian business

Ambrian Metals has opened a trading office in Shanghai as it seeks to expand its business in Asia, md Malcolm Freeman told MB on Thursday

“We’ve had a representative office there for a number of years, which is now a fully registered Chinese operation – it’s up and running as of June,” Freeman said. The office will allow the category IV member of the London Metal Exchange to expand its physical trading business into the region. “It will enhance our business, not just in China but in the Far East in general,” he added. “It [being in Shanghai] allows you to participate in the Chinese physical market.” The five-member team in Shanghai will focus on physical copper trading, though there are plans to expand into trading in other base metals. “Copper is the driving metal, but we are looking to...
