(AMM) Lakeside breaks ground on Ala. pipe plant

Lakeside Steel Inc. has begun construction on its new pipe manufacturing facility in Thomasville, Ala., with production anticipated by December 2011.

The Welland, Ontario-based tubular manufacturer said all necessary permits have been secured to allow the construction to commence on schedule.

Construction is expected to be substantially complete by April 2011, at which time installation and commissioning of manufacturing equipment is expected to commence.
