Legislation to fund development of a domestic rare earths program passed scrutiny in the House of Representatives this week, marking the latest advance for a rare earths-friendly policy.
The Rare Earths and Critical Materials Revitalization Act (H.R. 6160), sponsored by Rep. Kathleen Dahlkemper (D., Pa.), was approved by the House late Wednesday by a vote of 325 to 98.
The issue of re-establishing a domestic rare earths value chain has enjoyed an especially high profile as of late, thanks in part to market speculation that China had reduced?or eliminated entirely?exports of rare earths...
