TransCanada Corp.’s Canadian Mainline pipeline exploded and burned for hours this past weekend in a remote area of northern Ontario, according to Canadian officials.

It was not clear whether the line pipe itself might have been an issue and, if so, which firm might have made the pipe and when. The NEB spokeswoman said that information might not be available until Canada’s Transportation Safety Board releases a report on the incident. But that won’t happen for "quite some time," she said.
