(AMM) Nucor suspends operations after fatality

Nucor Corp. suspended operations Monday at its special-bar quality mill in Memphis, Tenn., following a fatal accident, and company officials could not be reached Wednesday for comment on whether operations at the plant had resumed.

"On behalf of everyone at Nucor Steel Memphis and the entire Nucor family, I want to express my deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Jerry Buford," Nucor Memphis vice president and general manager Mike Gurley said in a statement.
