Japan starts Q3 HRC talks with Korean rerollers

Japanese steelmakers have begun negotiations with South Korean rerollers on hot rolled coil prices for the third quarter
The average June quarter contract price is said to be $740 per tonne fob for rerolling grade hot rolled coil, up from the average of $700 fob for the previous quarter.
Japanese steelmakers had asked for $1,000 per tonne fob for the second quarter at first but soon had to drop this to $800-900 fob and finally come to terms at $740 per tonne fob, MB understands.
