Lead demand from China’s lead-acid battery sector is expected to rise by a compound average of 16.7% up to 2015, despite government clampdowns on the industry this year
The sector will consume up to 4.7 million tonnes of lead in 2015, compared with 2.35 tonnes in 2009, Cao Guoqing, vice secretary general of China Battery Industry Assn, said at the 2011 China Lead and Zinc conference in Kunming.
