Dry Bulk Chartering Markets PANAMAX Pacific: As usual activity levels remained low today, but we noticed several spot vessels looking for employment. For a longer Pacific round voyage owners are asking $12,000 against charterers willing to pay around the $10,000/11,000 mark. As for the past couple of days interest in short period remained fairly low. Rates here are around the $12,000 level. Atlantic: The sentiment improved somewhat today with a few more cargoes entering the market, especially for trips to the Far East. Rates have remained largely unchanged with a trans-Atlantic round voyage around the mid $15,000s and a front-haul trip in the mid $20,000s. HANDYSIZE/SUPRAMAX Atlantic: In the US Gulf today we are seeing the usual start to the week with both charterers and owners alike assessing the state of the market before making a move.
