The bid price on the London Metal Exchange’s three-month steel billet contract moved up by $10 on Wednesday January 18, although its offer price held steady.
The bid/offer spread on the day was $530/540 per tonne, compared with $520/540 on Tuesday.
“Sentiment is higher, but there is no change in activity,” one trader told Metal Bulletin.
