Vena, Trafigura receive permit to build Azulcocha zinc mine in Peru

Canada’s Vena Resources and Trafigura Beheer have obtained a construction permit for their Azulcocha zinc mine in Peru.
The permit allows for the completion of the mine infrastructure and the immediate application for the operating and beneficiating licences, which are the final permits required to produce saleable concentrates, Vena said on Thursday January 19.
Azulcocha, located in the Junin department, some 95km east of Peru’s capital, Lima, is expected to be developed into a 2,000-tpd mining operation.
