UK's Thamesteel goes into receivership, sources say

Receivers were called in to UK steelmaker Thamesteel on Wednesday January 25 after a reported deal with Trafigura fell through, sources close to the situation told Metal Bulletin.

The steelmaker was hopeful of tying up a deal with the trading company, which would see operations continue and the trading company finance Thamesteel’s scrap purchasing, the sources said....
