European duty-paid aluminium premiums moved up to $180 per tonne on the low end on Friday January 27, as the impact of various shutdowns continues to cast its shadow.
Metal Bulletin’s European duty-paid cash aluminium premium moved to $180-190 per tonne from $170-190 previously, with some market participants suggesting prices could move above this range in the coming weeks.
“We’ve done a bit of spot business in January, but not as much as we’d like. The market is quiet for the time of year,” one market participant said.
