European secondary aluminium prices rose again on Friday January 27, but less sharply compared with last week, as demand for material remained firm.
Two prices edged higher on Friday: DIN226 pressure diecasting ingot climbed to €1,780-1,850 ($2,791-$2,900) per tonne from €1,750-1,820 previously; while mixed turnings increased to €1,080-1,180 from €1,050-1,180.
“We’ve sold ingots this week at €1,790 at the lowest, and we’re paying for mixed turnings at €1,080. The week before, we were paying €1,030; it’s quite a lot,” one...
