Minor metal prices steady; all eyes on China’s return

Minor metal prices were steady on Friday in subdued conditions as buyers and sellers in China remained absent from the market during the new year holiday.

Metal Bulletin 3N5 cadmium prices were steady at $0.85-1.05 per lb, having dropped $0.10 cents after two Russian tenders put pressure on the market. A Russian zinc producer sold 65 tonnes of 3N5 material between $0.85-90 per lb at the end of last week, and a second tender for the same volume was concluded around five cents lower on Tuesday.
