Shanghai copper slides despite positive PMI

Shanghai Futures Exchange copper prices dropped 1.1% on Wednesday, despite a better-than-expected official assessment of manufacturing sentiment.
SHFE April copper settled at 59,810 yuan ($9,490) per tonne, down 670 yuan from Tuesday’s. session.
China’s purchasing managers’ index rose to 0.2 to 50.5 in January, reflecting a recovery in the manufacturing sector.
This is the second consecutive month the index has risen and stayed above the key level of 50 points.
