ENRC iron ore production down 3.3% year-on-year in Q4 2011

Eurasian Natural Resources Company (ENRC) saw its fourth-quarter 2011 iron ore production fall by 3.3% year-on-year to 10.52 million tonnes on the back of logistical problems, the miner said in a production report published on Wednesday February 1.
The Kazakhstan-based miner said that iron ore and primary concentrate production had fallen as a result of temporary railway restrictions affecting the movement of Kurzhunkul ore to ENRC’s processing plant.
Ore storage facilities are also overloaded, it said.
