Base metals prices edge higher in LME pre-market on euro strength

Base metals remained within ranges in pre-market trading on the London Metal Exchange on Friday February 3, with prices slightly above their opening levels at 09:42 GMT after the euro gained over the dollar.
Prices have been weaker this week after the rally seen in January, but have not fallen to the extent that many traders expected when considering the continuing European debt market turmoil and a lack of Chinese buying after the new year holiday.
