Hindalco's Orissa bauxite mine to start supplying Utkal refinery in June

Hindalco Industries plans to put its Baphlimali Bauxite mine into operation by June, around the same time it will commission the 1.5 million tpy Utkal Alumina refinery project in Orissa state, India.

According to a source close to the project the company is currently working to complete a road which will connect the bauxite mine to the alumina refinery. “We will initially carry bauxite from the mines to the refinery by road, the long covered conveyor will, however, take some more time to be completed,” the source said.
