Mexico starts anti-circumvention inquiry on Chinese seamless tube imports

The Mexican government has opened an investigation into imports of seamless steel tube from China which a domestic tubemaker claims are avoiding an anti-dumping duty imposed last year, according to the country’s economy secretary.
The anti-circumvention investigation comes after a request made by Mexican tubemaker TenarisTamsa. It claims that Chinese seamless tubes, with external diameters of 141.3-406.4mm, are being brought into the country under incorrect tariff codes to avoid payment of the anti-dumping duty.
