European secondary aluminium prices climbed again on Friday February 3, as market participants reported marked demand and continuing competition for scrap material.
DIN226 pressure die-casting ingot rose to €1,800-1,870 ($2,367.97-$2,460.06) per tonne from €1,780-1,850 previously, while mixed turnings increased to €1,130-1,200, from €1,080-1,180, and floated frag to €1,350-1,400.
“Scrap prices are rising, and demand from our clients is very high. They’re satisfied and they’re at full production, so we’ve found companies that will buy,” a producer in Germany said.
