UK 18/8 stainless steel scrap solids prices fall on lower LME nickel costs, weak dollar

Prices for 18/8 stainless steel scrap solids in the UK market decreased this week as London Metal Exchange nickel costs fell and the US dollar weakened against the pound, merchants told Metal Bulletin on Friday, February 3.
Intermerchant prices for solids stood at £1,275-1,325 ($2,001-2,079) per tonne on Friday, down from £1,300-1,350 per tonne a week earlier.
Prices fell as LME nickel costs fell by around $500 per tonne in the space of a week and the US dollar...
