Pittsburgh, Cleveland ferrous scrap prices fall

Ferrous scrap prices have dropped $30 to $50 a gross ton across the board in Pittsburgh and Cleveland this month, with overabundant prime grades taking the biggest hit.
"The prime grades are pretty tough to move, and that is why you are seeing them down as high as $50 a ton. Last month, we had to sell out bundles all the way into to the Midwest," said a large Pittsburgh processor.
Shred is also readily available and continues to trade on par with five-foot plate and structural scrap, with both grades falling $40 to $445 a ton.
