Nichols Aluminum LLC continues to meet with union representatives in an effort to hash out a new labor deal as members of Teamsters Local 371 enter their third week on strike at the company’s Davenport, Iowa, operations.
Most of the disagreement surrounds health-care benefits. "The union accepted certain parts of the health-care proposal, but they’re still far short on many of our issues. We gave them what we would consider our final economic proposal Sunday and they flatly rejected it," he said.
The union didn’t return calls seeking comment.
